The Seattle Seahawks traded backup quarterback Matt Flynn to the Oakland Raiders on Monday in exchange for two draft picks - Seahawks receive a fifth-round draft pick in 2014 and a conditional 2015 selection.
The Raiders are still working to trade Carson Palmer to the Cardinals for a late-round draft selection; in order to make the trade happen, Palmer is expected to restructure his contract in order to make the trade happen.
Flynn was scheduled to make less than half of what Palmer was to make in 2013. Flynn only has two career starts , both with the Packers. With the Raiders, Flynn will face competition from third-year-pro Terrelle Pryor.
Flynn may offer the Raiders similar production as Palmer for far less pay; however, the Raiders should not quit searching for their long-term quarterback.
