Romo Best in the League During the 4th Quarter

Brady, Peyton, Marino, Favre, and Elway are all known for comebacks - Peyton, Marino, Montana, and Brady are known as being clutch during the fourth quarter.

Those that don't follow the sport simply assume, mostly because of ill-informed fans, that Tony Romo fades in the fourth quarter -  that is simply the foolish rhetoric of less-than-educated fans.

Quick Career Stats:

  • Romo has a 68.7 QBR in the 4th
  • Tony Romo has a 104.1 fourth quarter passer rating
  • Romo has thrown for 9.1 yards per attempt during the fourth
  • Romo has completed 64% of his passes during the fourth with 4,075 yards
  • He has also thrown for 31 touchdowns during the fourth
  • He led the Cowboys to a league-high five fourth-quarter comebacks last season

An ongoing joke when a team's QB throws an interception is "He's pulling a Romo", which is simply uneducated banter by intermediate fans who do not understand the game, stats, or simply dislike Romo...and/or possibly the Cowboys

The argument for a QB is that he is only good if he has won a Super Bowl.

This argument always falls short when the likes of Marino or Moon are brought into the conversation - Dan Fouts, Boomer Esiason, Jim Kelly, as well as Fran Tarkenton are also names that can kill this argument.

Stats and facts are the only thing that can win an argument, and unfortunately, most fans are unaware of many of these stats.
